Founder, President
Emily Chabot
Emily is the Founder of Unbound Path. She has lifelong experience with the challenges that come with Filum Disease and can personally speak to the Extradural Filum Terminale Release surgery performed at Institut Chiari & Siringomielia & Escoliosis de Barcelona that was pivotal in changing her health trajectory. Born with Filum Disease that was both misdiagnosed and undiagnosed for decades, she became a self proclaimed researcher in her search for answers, accumulating a wide knowledge base of the disease itself and its extensive number of comorbidities. Drawing on the skills she developed while obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from The University of Texas Austin, she studied anything and everything related to the science behind the disease but also was passionate about hearing the stories of others also affected. She brings a unique perspective and passion to this nonprofit from having lived this herself. She underwent Filum Terminale Release surgery in November 2022.
Emily enjoys photography and playing pickleball.
